XPoint designs communications, telemetry, surveillance, and commercial audio and video equipment, often as a design house for third party resellers, but also with product lines of its own.

The company began as a joint venture between parties based in the US and Netherlands, and was formally founded as a South African company in 2002.

XPoint has hardware, firmware and software, and manufacturing capabilities, with a customer list including companies in Africa, the US, Europe and the Middle East.
